1. Legal The LEGO Star Wars Videogame's EULA does not allow for game mods to be made or distributed. However by contacting the publishers Giant Interactive and LucasArts and the developers Traveller's Tales, permission has been given to make mods for the game, on the condition that they only be posted to the LucasArts sanctioned download site LucasFiles.com. I would like to personally thank Jon Burton @ Traveller's Tales and Jonathan Smith @ Giant Entertainment for getting back to me after I sent my request to them asking that modding be allowed, and an especially big thanks to Jonathan Smith for chasing up the other parties to get their various permissions.
It should go without saying, but as LEGO and Star Wars are aimed at people of all ages, please don't make any mods that contravene the 'family friendly' spirit of the toys and the movies. The last thing we want is for LEGO
or Lucas's legal team to override the decision to allow modding and shut the community down. |
